IN 1984, THE
FINDHORN COMMUNITY OF SCOTLAND founded a German Ecovillage called Steyerberg Garden. In Steyerberg today, the
Caia Academy provides seminars, training, and retreats -- including the upcoming third
Mindful Medical Women Summit (June 26-29 2025).
You probably haven't heard of
at least one of those.
That's why Emerge exists.
Findhorn is a transdisciplinary, trans-lineage foundation and intentional community “
dedicated to embodying the core truths at the heart of all faiths." It has a rather colorful
history of mixed mysticism and ecological experiments. Nonetheless, its combination of sacred living and focus on nature has helped it spread centers and networks worldwide.
Steyerberg Garden (aka Lebensgarten Steyerberg) is an ecovillage and intentional community in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is a founding member of the
Global Ecovillage Alliance and hosts the Caia Academy.
The
Caia Academy organizes seminars, workshops and retreats in alignment with the guidelines of the International Development Goals (
IDG) framework.
That framework divides 23 underlying competencies into 5 general categories:
BE – Establish a more authentic relationship with yourself.
THINK – Evolve cognitive skills
DRIVE IN RELATIONSHIP – Take care of others in the world.
COLLABORATE – Develop social intelligence in networks.
TRADE – Build new economies and skill sets.
In attunement with all that, Caia Academy will be hosting its third
Mindful Medical Women Summit this summer.
Mindful Medical Women is a Germany-based collective of women involved in holistic and integrative health. It is a mutual support network, a system of ongoing training, and a collaborative think tank.
These women expand their skill sets, keep their thinking at the leading-edge, address problems like the burnout of healers, provide technical and economic mentoring to each other, and ponder the kinds of feminism needed to keep pace with our current crises and emerging understanding.
They have a particular focus on understanding
how symptoms emerge as communications from bodies and what sorts of transdisciplinary hybrid approaches are needed to restore physical, emotional, and psychological well-being (or
salutogenesis as they call it), self-efficacy, depth, and openness.
