WE DON'T USUALLY DO A NEWS SERVICE (maybe we should) but there are few timely events occurring in our “liminal network" of developmental, transformational, and regenerative communities.  Let's make sure we all have a quick overview:

LIMICON II

In 2024, the Limicon event brought hundreds of people together for nearly continuous sessions, presentations, and online hang-outs during March.  They describe it as, “part we-space, part choose-your-own-adventure, part field-nurturing experiment." For a lot of people, this was a first entry point to the social dimension of our collective work.  And they're doing it again.

From March 5th to April 2nd of 2025, the second Limicon will occur.  Anyone who registers can add themselves, their friends and allies to the living network map.  You can also propose sessions.  This is an excellent opportunity for anyone or any group engaged in a project to let everyone know about it.  It is also a chance to explore experimental edge questions that often do not come up in our usual gatherings.

THE JIM RUTT ROAST

Last year's Liminal Comedy Roast of Alexander Bard (sponsored by Parallax Media, the Integral Stage & Pascal's Integral Batcave) was a big hit with everyone who wants their culturally transformative metatheories mixed with profanity, crude jokes, and performative aggression. 

Jim Rutt is next.

On February 28th 2025 there will be a live (and loving) insult-a-thon in which the life's work, persona & theories of complex theorist and Game B founder Jim Rutt will be raked over hot coals.  Layman Pascal will host again -- and other roasters include Michael Garfield, Stephanie Lepp, Farsam Shadab, Robert Conan Ryan, Bonnitta Roy, and Brendan Graham Dempsey.  You will also get to hear them insulting each other.

Although the vibe isn't for everyone, these events are part of the ongoing process of cultivating social antifragility in liminal networks as well as having fun, changing modes, and depressuring any latent antagonisms that lurk in the underbelly of the field.  If that sounds intriguing, check out Rutting the Jim 2025.

THE UKRAINE PILGRIMAGE

In September of 2024 there was an Emerge Ukraine event.  You probably remember vaguely that it was happening,  If you did not attend, however, or if you are not on the private group discussion threads of those who did, then it is likely that you never got debriefed about the event. 

This video came out in January of 2025 to provide a sense of the people, themes, issues and structure of the Emerge-organized liminal event in the tragically war-torn heart of Eastern Europe. 

Take a few minutes to establish at least a personal emotional sense of this unique gathering.

KAINOS

What the heck is a Kainos?  Alexander Beiner, formerly of Rebel Wisdom, continues to be one of the most daring, prescient and articulate commentators on the leading edge of the metacrisis.  This is his new project.

The first two lines of the video trailer for the project are:   “We are all fucked.  It is all going to be okay."  So that's the vibe.  Whatever world and sensibility holds both of those.

Kainos is a platform for live conversations and avant-garde documentaries based around some of the most interesting people and themes emerging at the liminal edge.  Check the list of upcoming people and projects in the introductory Substack article.

Okay, that's four things occurring around now.  Whether you check them out or not, we need to get better at establishing a basic self-awareness of our field, its events, its people and its concepts.  That's where Emerge comes in.
